A consequence of my studies at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Dundee is my passion for narrative-driven design.
I am a spatial designer and storyteller.
My interest in storytelling coupled with the desire to create social change has led to varied career aspirations, from working within the entertainment industry to a local council. Currently, I am looking for a full time, part time or internship position in a range of sectors while I develop and expand my portfolio.
In my final year at art school, I devoted my time to a project concentrated on narrative. What started as a 3 week brief became GLITCH: a video game concept exploring the impact that both social fragmentation and an environment can have on those in proximity to it. By incorporating narrative into a project I find it can become increasingly attention grabbing,
memorable, viewers are more likely to understand larger themes and ultimately connect with the work.
Beyond storytelling, I have accumulated an array of skills throughout my undergrad and beyond. From freehand sketching to CAD; Adobe Suite to physical model making; and the ability to work individually or within a team. Voluntary projects punctuated my time at uni, including the Empathic Redesign of Ninewells Hospital, two Dundee Service Jams and a semester-long Erasmus exchange to Italy. I’m always keen to gain insight from other people, sectors and countries & will continue to get involved with initiatives that I can learn from.
